Dubai airport ranked world’s busiest in international passenger traffic for 9th consecutive year

The number of passengers passing through the hub further than doubled to over 66 million in 2022
Dubai International( DXB) field maintained its top position as the busiest field for transnational passenger business for the ninth successive time in 2022, according to airfields Council International( ACI).

Dubai field chief said the focus remains on keeping DXB on top of the list of the busiest capitals.

According to ACI data, the other top 10 busiest airfields for transnational passenger business in 2022 were London’s Heathrow(58.243 m passengers), Amsterdam(52.46 million), Paris(51.76 m), Istanbul(48.5 m), Frankfurt(44.77 m), Madrid(36.23 m), Doha(35.7 m), Singapore(31.9 m) and London’s Gatwick Airport(30.14 m).

The Council data showed Singapore field recorded the loftiest growth in transnational passenger business of952.9 per cent in 2022, followed by London’s Gatwick Airport(501.5 per cent), Heathrow Airport(230.5 per cent), Madrid(136.2 per cent), Paris(128.9 per cent) and Dubai International( 127 per cent).
